Manchester Day Case Study: StageMobil LR Trailer Stage with Manchester City Council & Walk The Plank

Staging for a city-wide celebration of sound and spectacle

Manchester Day is one of the city’s flagship free festivals, a huge family celebration that fills the streets with music, performance, and spectacle. The 2025 edition brought a new site layout and a music-led theme that tied into Manchester’s “summer of sound”. Crowds lined Deansgate for the midday parade before spilling into city squares to explore workshops, live bands, circus acts, and more.

The Setup

Clarva supplied the StageMobil LR, a 7m x 6m mobile trailer stage, alongside a full banner install to dress the structure with event branding. Compact enough for tight city-centre environments, the LR gives a professional platform for live performance while keeping deployment times short. For Manchester Day it acted as a focal point for live music and announcements, anchoring the new site footprint, while handling a family-friendly audience of thousands.

Clarva was contracted directly through Manchester City Council, working alongside Walk The Plank who managed site and production. Walk The Plank are a world-renowned outdoor arts company, known for transforming public spaces with fireworks, parades, and creative spectacle. Their expertise in audience flow and large-scale logistics, paired with our stage solution, ensured the event delivered safely and with flair. This was the third consecutive year we’ve provided the trailer stage for Manchester Day, proving the value of consistent partnerships.
